My Story

The Foyle Hospice provides specialized care and support both in the in-patient unit and in the community, for patients with cancer and other life limiting illnesses. This care extends to the family and further on-going support is provided for the bereaved.

In-Patient Unit

Our Inpatient Unit is a purpose-built facility that can accommodate 9 patients, some in single rooms and others in shared rooms, all with en-suite facilities. In addition to the patients’ bedrooms the unit includes, a jacuzzi bathroom, easily accessible toilets, multiple sitting areas, a sun room, an interdenominational prayer room, self-contained apartments and visitors’ kitchen and sitting room.

Day Hospice

Our Day Hospice provides specialist palliative care that is tailored to the needs of the patients, families and their carers. Our team of specially trained highly skilled Palliative Care Nurses provide compassionate care alongside our support staff and volunteers.

Integrative Care Clinic

Our Integrative Care Clinic has been running since July 2015. Quality of life is the focus of the clinic, which aims to maximise wellbeing and help individuals and families learn how to care for themselves in the midst of potential change.

Home Care

Our Community Specialist Palliative Care Team is a group of specially trained nurses who provide professional palliative care expertise and support to patients and their families in their own home.

Adult Bereavement Support

Support for patients and their families after they receive the diagnosis of a life-limiting illness or death of someone close to them, despite the cause of death.

Children & Young People Bereavement Support

Healing Hearts provides specialist bereavement support for any child or young person, aged 4-16 years, who have experienced a loved one receiving the diagnosis of a life-limiting illness or death of someone close to them regardless of the cause.
